Nancy and Jonathan and Steve have only been dating for a short time before they get outed (authors choice to how many people). Steve starts pulling away, and Nancy and Jonathan are broken-hearted. They end up figuring out it’s because a well meaning friend of Steve’s warned him away, with good intentions.
