Eddie got raped and filled up with something by one of Vecnas tentacles. Turns out the "something" was eggs and now they're growing inside of Eddie. He is ashamed and hides his predicament and decides to go through the expelling process alone. That's how he finds himself alone in the woods, holding his cramping belly and pushing fist-sized eggs out of his sore and swollen hole.
