The party finally gets Steve to join in a D&D campaign. And Steve hates it.
He feels like he's always 3 steps behind everyone else, he doesn't understand the game mechanics. And after the 4th or 5th sigh for the others, he stops asking Eddie to explain things because he's holding up the game. He can't pronounce half of the towns or creature/character names, let alone keep track of which is which.
It feels like school, Steve walking into a test that he thought he studied well enough for only not recognize half the words and end up handing in a blank test sheet. To Steve this highlights just how smart the kids are (and how dumb he is)
So when the session ends, Steve gets up and walks to the bathroom and just cries.
+I'd love to see the party (and even Eddie) not really noticing Steve’s discomfort until the end of the session (either he hides it well or everyone is so engrossed in the game) ++The party has been playing a while, and really haven't dealt with new players so I could see them being very opinionated and judgemental of Steve's choices. (Gen, or Steddie, I don't really care)
