For a guy who's canonically in a band, he wasn't at band practically that much so I wanna fix that.

Steve will pay for drugs. Heck, he'll pay double Eddie's asking price. Eddie wants the cash but he also wants 'King' Steve to kneel for him and suck his cock. Steve is outraged (some internalized homophobia would be A+). IDC why Steve is so desperate for the drugs (to look cool in front of his friends? Big party?) but he ends up doing it, very begrudingly, and Eddie is rough with him, degrades him, etc. Steve cries but gets through it. So basically after the new season i like to think that Jason survived but lost use of his legs, now using a wheelchair to get around and a crutch to walk, completely ruining his basketball scholarship... and losing his friends after it stopped being trendy to send him flowers and get well cards. He takes a break from school for about 4 months to waste away in his house and once he came back to school no one really interacted with him, teachers don't even call on him since somehow that would even be awkward.

on Eddies side, his name is cleared but life is definitely different, and harder, blaming Jason is easy. He was the one who started the fear mongering after all. Seeing the other back in school reignites that hate and brings him to break into the others house, Jason obviously terrified seeing Eddie in his room.

Outside in the real world, their frantic friends are trying to approach Dustin and get his weapon from him so he doesn’t hurt himself or others, but he won’t let them near him, lashing out violently if they get close. And they have no idea what could be making him so scared and so vicious, until he starts yelling things like “I won’t let you touch him!” and “You can’t have him! Would love for it to end with comfort and reassurance and Steve having a moment where he realizes that these kids really do love him. Their relationship deserves to be explored more and they deserve to hug each other tightly and desperately
