In s1 Nancy accuses Steve of a track record of dating sluts. She wasn’t wrong, but not for the reason she thought. He doesn’t care if they put out for him, he’s just attracted to the idea of dating experienced people, people who’ve slept around a lot. Steve finds his soulmate in Eddie, who will go out and fuck other people and come home and tell him about it. Sometimes, if he’s lucky, Eddie will let Steve watch.

A Free Use AU, where one of them has had that designation a while. I’m thinking Eddie, but I’d read either way. The other boy (Steve?) starts off as a user, but really likes the banter they have, and wants to hang out with (Eddie) beyond just taking a turn. Steddie fall in love. (Eddie) can’t just change his designation at the drop of a hat, society doesn’t work that way, but (Steve) loves him regardless.

Rockstar!Eddie is notorious for not taking very good care of himself. After a combination of guelling stage stunts while on tour and just being on the road, Eddie is in pain. His management gets him an appointment with Physio!Steve who is completely unfamiliar with his music, unimpressed with the crap he puts his body through, and basically bullies Eddie into some better habits. Eddie's circle can't believe the difference after a few sessions, and Eddie is surprised by how much more settled he feels after he sees Steve. Eventually they both realise that Eddie is subconsciously treating Steve like his dom and that's why he's being such a good boy for him.

- Both Steve and Eddie are familiar with BDSM and quickly set up rules and limits
- Eddie has a low level pain kink that is being fed by the burn of physio sessions
- Steve ends up being hired as the on call physio for Eddie/CC's next tour

Ok, so to give more detail, I know they never interacted but I think the Eddie/Argyle dynamics would be so interesting! I'm pretty much only into canon-setting ST fic, so no AUs beyond 'Eddie doesn't die' please!

The situation I'm thinking is 'post-S4, Eddie is hiding out in the woods, he and Argyle share a joint and have a stoner heart-to-heart, and one thing leads to another'

+I love the way S4 left off with the world being close to ending, so bonus points for a 'the world's ending, you're here, you've got nice hair, why not' dynamic
+I also like the 80s setting playing into guilt/shame/etc with queer ships. I can see Argyle being a lot more chill about his bisexuality than Eddie would be about his own (and on that note would prefer them both be bi rather than gay)
++Vanilla strongly preferred, but within that I don't really mind sex specifics. Frottage, oral, mutual handjobs, anal, whatever
++Character exploration focus rather than 'the smut being sexy' focus

A lot of fic has Eddie introducing Steve to Corroded Coffin, and that's great! But how about -

Steve and one of the other members of CC stumble into being friends. Maybe one of them is secretly a sports fan, or their parents know each other so they get forced to interact at events. They get to see first hand that Steve is working on being a better person, but they both agree not to advertise the fact they get along.

Eventually something happens that forces Steve into interacting with the whole group, and Eddie doesn't know how to deal with the fact one of his oldest friends has been hanging out with Harrington. Who is a lot nicer than they used to be, and a badass, and good with kids and - oh no.

Out of all the ways he could have come out or been outed as trans, Eddie really didn’t think it was the obvious period stains on his mattress from heavy overnights that would do it.

This could be fruity four, Steve/Nancy/Eddie, or gen if one of the girls figures it out. Steve and Robin have moved in the future to somewhere heavily gay populated. Steve might be the only straight guy in his apartment block, honestly. Robin should be living the high life. The problem is Steve and Robin are weird, from years of Hawkins shit. And weird in different ways (jock vs band nerd) despite being fully codependent. The women Robin begin dating always have a good first few dates with her, but as soon as Steve is around, they don’t like him, for various reasons. There’s not a chance in hell Robin’s going to have a relationship with someone who doesn’t like Steve, why the fuck would she do that? OFC clashing with Steve is an instant drop of the woman.

It’d be almost funny how often it happens, if it wasn’t annoying and terrible and a waste of her time. She thought Tammy was bad taste in women, how can she keep picking women who hate the other half of her soul? Talking to her over the phone confidante (probably Nancy, but could be any Party member) they joke, why don’t you two go on the first date together? An early screening process. It’s clearly meant to be a joke, but it’s actually a good idea.

And then it morphs. Goes from Steve semi third wheeling on Robin’s lesbian dates to Robin seeking out bisexual women because she wants Steve to have a girlfriend too, and they basically have the same type (coughNancyWheelercough). Anyone who loves Robin has to love Steve, after all.

A riff on my previous prompt, but… Steve dating ofcs or omcs, and Robin dating ofcs, like a Five Times thing. Five times their significant others broke up with/had an argument with Steve/Robin over them putting the other over the S.O.

Could be little things building up, like Robin gets passenger seat while Mary has to have the backseat, or Jenna’s coat getting thrown onto a chair because the closet only has so much room and of course it’s Steve’s coat that hangs up. Could be big things, like a cancelled long planned vacation because Steve broke his ankle, or Robin not caring if Steve comes in to pee and shave while she and Carrie are having shower sex. I just want a fic where friendship is far more important to them than their romantic relationships, and the S.O.s being offended, because society says romance is the be all and end all, and Steve and Robin genuinely not giving a shit if the S.O. doesn’t like it, the only time Robin doesn’t get passenger is if Dustin is in town.

It’s a rare but scientifically quantifiable fact; if soulmates are with each other at the moment of death, they can prevent it. Not a lot of people find their soulmates, but it happens. Cue everyone’s surprise when Steve & Nancy & Robin get to Eddie and Dustin a little quicker, and Steve prevents Eddie’s death. Steve doesn’t even identify as gay, how can this be true?
